Today's Son Barrina

As the demand is increasing for organic food, so the production on many farms is speeded up, all being using natural fertilizers.  The faster food is grown the less nutritional energies it will contain.  Our search to produce quality led us to biodynamic farming methods, which we started in early 2006.  Biodynamic is an all encompassing view of nature which embraces not only the physical but also the cosmic aspects.  Biodynamics works with nature in its totality
including the sun, moon and stars.

We are continually trying to expand our biodynamically produced product range in the shop (Demeter) as well as growing more produce ourselves.

To this end “The Box” scheme has had to be abandoned for lack of time although deliveries can still be made in certain circumstances.

This year also started a children's gardening club.  So far our group of young children have planted their own potatoes, flowers and bulbs and wheat, which they will care for, harvest and work by hand, the eventual aim
being to make their own bread.

We are also hoping to soon be able to offer limited self contained accommodation to people really wanting to stay on a working farm.
